     220 East 8th Street Garage

The 220 East 8th Garage is located at the intersection of 8th street and San Jacinto.  It is one block to congress and three blocks to the Capital Complex

We have installed a mesh wire gate that locks down the garage after 6:00 P.M.   The gate will open automatically if you are working late and need to exit.  If you leave and need to return, the access card will open both gates. 

 

 

The stairwell exit door and the San Jacinto building are secured with combination pushpin locks.  The combination is the same on all of the doors.  The locks are designed to keep non-tenants out of the garage.  Please keep all doors closed and please don't give out the combination. 

 

 

 

The 220 East 8th Street Garage is located at the intersection of 8th and San Jacinto Streets directly across the street from the Omni Hotel. Our parking tenants come from Congress Avenue to the west, the Capitol from the north, Red River Street to the east and 6th Street from the south. The Social Security and Federal buildings are across the street from the garage.

We are a contract-only garage, and lease to individuals and companies who need space. We offer both month-to-month and term agreements up to 12 months.  The rent is $140.00 per space plus applicable city of Austin sales taxes. The parking spaces are first-come, first-serve.  In addition to the unreserved spaces there are a limited number of reserved spaces available.  The reserved spaces lease for $245.00 per month plus applicable taxes.  Spaces are only reserved from 6:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. 

 

Parking Access Cards

The garage has an access card that allows you to come and go as many times during the day as needed.  Parking spaces can be accessed 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  This means that if you work late your space is still guaranteed.  Many of our Tenants will use the garage when attending functions at the Omni Hotel or at the Paramount Theater.  The month to month contract covers un restricted use.

The photo to the right shows the electronic access card displayed in the window of a vehicle.  The card must be visible at all times when parked in the garage.  The card is designed to allow for easy display.

Security Features

 

The parking garage has several security features to help insure that your valuable property and personal safety are enhanced. 

 

The ramps to each floor are two-way traffic.  There is plenty of room to pass another vehicle but we ask that all Tenants use caution in driving up and down the ramps.  On each floor we have installed convex mirrors to help in watching for on-coming traffic.

The card reader and gate arm make sure that access is available to only those who have a valid parking card.  Using card reader and a computer database we can determine who is in the garage at any time.
